Ingredients
- 1 can tinned fish (I like anything from Fishwife, salmon or trout is ideal)
- 1/2 cup white rice (Instant rice is great for this)
- 2 Tbss Furikake (I prefer the bonito furikake but choose your favorite)
- 1 Tbsp Kewpie mayo (American mayo is okay in a pinch)
- 1 tsp Sriracha
- 2 Tbsp chopped green onions
- 1 packet nori
Instructions
- Put everything except for your nori in a bowl and mix.
- Serve with your nori on the side, placing a small rice ball into the nori for an easy onigiri bite as you eat.
Notes
- You can make this healthier by making multigrain rice (e.g. white rice with quinoa, black rice, brown rice, etc.) but I absolutely would not fully sub white rice for anything like basmati or jasmine.
- Shelled edamame, sunomono salad (cucumber salad), sigeumchi-namul (spinach banchan), and kimchi are all great vegetable additions to make this recipe healthier
- Measure with your heart. It's QUICKER.
- This is a great pantry meal to keep around. If you don't have an Asian grocery store near you, a lot of similar products can be found online and on Amazon
